Standings don’t get any tighter than the way it is in the Western Conference right now. The Minnesota Wild are currently hanging on to the last playoff spot with 55 points, but are in a 3-way tie with Edmonton and Columbus. Dead last in the West? St. Louis with 50, count ‘em, 50 points. The difference between 5th and 15th is a mere 9 points. You may remember an article TSN had on January 21, talking about Phoenix being 5th, and how they will be top contenders the rest of the way. Now, barely 3 weeks since the posting of that article the Coyotes sit 13th. Remember when we all thought Dallas was down and out? Well, since the Avery feud the Stars have rebounded with a 17-8-3 record and find themselves right back in the playoff picture. Things certainly change quickly in the West. Does it have to do [Read More...]

Hey, long time no post. Just to let you guys know, the podcast probably won’t pick up until the week of January 11th, but we’re still not sure. It depends when we can get studio time at the college. We won’t find out what’s available until we go back, which is the week of the 11th. I think 2009 should be a good year for us here at the blog. Make sure you listen in for our special trade deadline episode, where we will go through every notable trade that was made, and offer our two cents, as well as who we feel won the trade. During the playoffs you will see beefed up coverage as well, we will be getting in depth into each match up. Should be fun! Just some other news that some may find interesting, especially goaltenders. TPS has been bought out, so prepare to see [Read More...]

Some of you may be experiencing playback issues of the podcast on the site, it will sound all distorted. Some computers seem to not be affected by the problem, but if you are one of the ones who is, click subscribe and let it download to iTunes. If you let it play off iTunes, it works. I apologize for the inconvenience. We are working on getting it resolved as quickly as possible. Greg Balloch EDIT: This problem seems to be affecting users of Mozilla Firefox more so than users of other browsers. It may be due to a certain add-on that I will try to find out. If it doesn’t work, try a different browser.
